Right hand
ALL FINGERS SHOULD HAVE THE SAME CURVATURE AND THE FINGER TIPS SHOULD BE EVEN ON THE STRINGS (WITH THE SAME AMOUNT OF FLESH AND NAIL CONTACTING EACH STRING)!
“In playing, the motion of plucking the strings
Should be all in the fingers not in the arm or palm!
The right hand should not bounce with the movements
of the fingers nor should the hand be moved up or away from the string during the fingers strokes by lifting the forearm or moving the wrist!

Duncan shows and tells an accurate image of the right hand placement.
Wrist heights do differ but
CONSISTANCY IS THE MAIN OBJECTIVE.
IF YOUR PROXIMAL(MIDDLE FINGER) MOVES FROM SIDE TO SIDE
AS YOU PLAY
WILL NEVER ACHEIVE TOTAL SECURITY.
IT IS CORRECT PRACTCE THAT TRAINS CORRECT SOLID MOVEMENT AND ALLOWS YOU TO GET BETTER.

"Genuine study takes place during short intervals
and in moments of great concentration.
ITS VALUE
SHOULD BE MEASURED BY THE LEVEL OF CONCENTRATION
THAT CORRECT PLAYING REQUIRES AND
NEVER

IN THE NUMBER OF HOURS EMPLOYED".

Abel Carlevaro Escuela de la Guitarra

WRIST POSITION VARIES BUT THE STOKE SHOULD ALWAYS BE STABLE.
Wrist from the English and American school
that makes rest stroke harder
due to dramatic wrist drops.

Celedonio Romero in Del Mar
I Personally heard him play live to tape
with just amazing scales
first thing in the morning.

He was almost 80 and his hands were like a neuro surgeon. It took my breath away and gave me hope that
I may have such joy in my life so long.

How to practice Villa Lobos etude number 7
Start Villa lobos etude 7 with a careful Left hand
aproach
,playing the 1st string fingering so you can put down a bar at any time.
If you can put a bar down at all times with your left hand you will be in postion to make this piece easier
Use Pepes' right hand finger style (touch the string at the same point of the finger on the right hand and
relax after each stroke)
You can use I,M or I,M,A but make sure that your right hand cross is the same/no finger movment side to side.

GO SLOW!!!!! SERIOUSLY!
YOU WILL PLAY THIS SCALE THE REST OF YOUR LIFE THE MORE CORRECT YOU PLAY THE FASTER AND MORE CONTROLED YOU WILL BE!!!!!
You must touch each string exactly as you did the previous one.
one way to practice is to place the rt hand on the strings before you play,ie:I,M on the 1st lift off,
play the 1st string bring the whole hand slightly down and plant the I,M,on th 2nd string to make sure the alighnment is correct then lift off the fingers and play the 2nd string notes of the scale and continue that exercise with consectuive string crossings.
then slowly watch yourself play the right hand notes without the left hand and then the left alone making sure the left hand stays in a position
to place
a bar down at all times and that the metacarpo(knuckle) of the left hand stays parallel to the edge of the neck during the whole scale.
more on this later.
